About Us
Walking One Stop
The Walking One Stop is part of a new gang reduction initiative under the VIP. One Stop participants walk neighborhoods that have experienced recent and severe incidents of gang or juvenile related violence. The One Stop includes resource providers, community residents, government workers, faith-based representatives, and other concerned people. The group fans out in neighborhoods, knocking on doors, and speaking with residents about access to juvenile, social, and economic services. The service contact is made on the spot. It’s all about the community!
Prevention Initiative
Some of you are walking on the edge—trying to choose the path to follow. We want to keep you from being arrested and getting into a pattern that can destroy your dreams and future. The Miami-Dade County Prevention Initiative is for youth 17 years of age and under who are going through some behavior and family difficulties, and may be at risk of being arrested.
