Who:  Presidential Scholars Ernest Baker and Priscilla Aleman

What: Two Miami-Dade students went to the White House to receive awards from President Barack Obama! Only 141 students nationwide  were honored this year as Presidential Scholars, the highest honor that a high school senior can receive.  Ernest is from Opa-Locka and graduated from Carol City High School.  Priscilla is from Miami Lakes and graduated from DASH.  Both of these New York City college bound young adults have brains and talent and the combination got them a ticket to the White House!  Ernest is a hip-hop dancer, choreographer, stylist , and model.  His dance group, Live in Color Dance Collective is scheduled to appear this summer on America’s Got Talent!  Priscilla is an artist whose true passion is sculpture.  She is focused, wants to travel,  and says her art is not work, but just something she does—like her  second language.  Kudos to Ernest and Priscilla for excelling based on academics, community service, leadership, and commitment to high ideals!
